Stratco Sunroof™ Design Information
Fixing Details
Two 12 x 20mm self drilling screws per pan at each support and two 3.2mm sealed aluminium rivets per pan at the back channel. If decking runs parallel to the back channel, secure to channel with rivets at maximum 200mm centres. All screws are to have neoprene washers.

Design Considerations
Gable/Curved Units Attached Between a Flat Unit & an Existing Structure
Gable/Curved Units which are attached between a Flat Unit (excluding pergolas) and an existing house, shall only be considered attached if the Gable/Curved Unit is attached to the existing house (C) for its full length (L) and the longest side of the combined unit (B) does not exceed twice the gable/curved length (L). The Flat Unit in this case can be considered attached. This style requires all columns to be embedded into footings.
Gable/Curved Units Attached to Flat Unit One or Both Sides
Gable/Curved Units which are attached one or both sides to Flat Units (excluding pergolas) must be attached to an existing house for at least 75% of the gable/curved opening length (O) to be considered attached. Flat Unit/s must be deemed attached as detailed in the Flat Unit section below to allow the Gable/Curved Unit to be considered attached.
Gable/Curved Units are considered attached both sides if both Flat 1 and 2 comply with attachment rules for Flat Units as detailed below. Gable/Curved Units are considered attached one side if only one Flat Unit exists and it complies with the attachment rules for Flat Units as detailed below.
Flat Units
A Verandah, Patio, Carport or Pergola is deemed to be freestanding unless it is attached to an existing house (C) for at least 75% of the length of its shortest side (A), and its longest side (B) does not exceed twice the length of its shortest side.
Design Options
When designing an Outback, consideration should be given to both Roof sheet direction, and the orientation of any openings and overhangs involved. These are often determined by appearence and drainage requirements. The following charts show some of the normal options used, but contact Stratco if assistance is required.

Stratco Sunroof™
Control the weather with the innovative Stratco Sunroof. The level of sunlight, shade and weather shielding can be controlled by adjusting the electronically operated louvres with the hand held remote. When the louvres are completely shut they form an interlocking profile that provides protection from the weather.
With a superior span of 3.9 metres the strong, well engineered pre-painted louvres have a unique foam core that makes them rigid and helps to insulate from surrounding noise. All moving parts use specially designed bushes for whisper quiet performance. For peace of mind and complete weather protection the system has an inbuilt rain sensor that will automatically close the louvres if rain is detected.
Superior design
The Stratco Sunroof can cover openings of up to 3.9 metres thanks to its strong, well engineered blades. The pre-painted steel blades have a unique foam insert that makes them very rigid and helps to insulate from any surrounding noise. The moving parts use specially designed bushes for whisper quiet performance, and the blades are driven by a powerful 100 watt, 24 volt DC motor for reliable long life operation.
The system is designed to be easy to install. The blades come pre-assembled and the tracks that fit the blades are pre-mitred and cut to length. The louvres fit quickly to the framework and several snap-fitted components are incorporated.
Stratco range integration
The Stratco Sunroof louvre blades have been specially designed with a unique, softly ribbed profile so they "look and feel" like part of the Stratco Pergola and Patio family. When the louvres are in the closed position they form an interlocking profile that is both clean-lined and aesthetically similar to Stratco Roof Deck.
The Sunroof can be installed as a stand alone unit, or it can be combined with other Stratco products, including the Flat Roof, Multispan or Clearspan Gable.
Like other Stratco products, the Sunroof is available in a range of modern high gloss colours that will complement any home or environment.
Strength and long spanning ability
The Stratco Sunroof can cover openings of up to 3.9 metres thanks to its strong, well engineered louvre blades. The louvres have a unique foam core that not only makes them very rigid, but also aids to insulate and dampen any surrounding noise.
The system has been designed, engineered and tested to comply with the relevant safety and building standards.
Quiet, effortless control
Sunroof louvres rotate with a smooth and quiet operating action. The system incorporates specially designed bushes to prevent any moving parts from generating unnecessary noise, and takes advantage of an insulated foam core which also dampens operating noise.
The louvres are driven by a strong 24 volt DC motor, which is mounted high above the gutter to ensure protection from rain and pooling water. The motor is safe to use, and is controlled at the touch of a button by remote control.
Adjust the level of light, shade and ventilation
The level of sunlight and shade can be controlled by rotating the louvres. Louvres can be rotated to the fully open position to allow for complete overhead sun, or partially open to provide shade and protection while allowing for adequate ventilation.
The opening direction of the louvres can be aligned in any one of four directions during installation to optimise light and ventilation control.
Rain protection
When the louvres are in the closed position they form an interlocking profile that provides protection from the rain. A rain sensor is fitted to the unit as standard equipment so the louvres automatically close when rain is detected, maintaining a dry covered area underneath.
Durable
Colour steel, stainless steel, and powder-coated aluminium and plastic materials are used throughout to ensure optimum corrosion protection.
The entire system has been durability tested to 20,000 cycles (equivalent to two full cycles per day for more than 25 years).
A powerful 100 Watt motor is used to ensure the system operates reliably for life. It is fitted with a thermal cut-out and adjustable limit stops to prevent damage from misuse.
Easy to install
Attention to detail has ensured the Stratco Sunroof can be quickly and easily installed.
The louvres are delivered to the site pre-assembled with foam core and end caps. The tracks are pre-mitred and cut to length to reduce the overall installation time.
The louvres have been designed to be quickly fitted to the framework using a patented, spring loaded bayonet mounting system.
The total system clips and fastens together with the integration of specially designed, snap-fitted components.
